In that time the countries int eh G7 like USA, France and the UK have contributed to instability in Africa. Look at Libya, Sudan, and Northern Nigeria. All the violence is a product of their foreign policy.

Knowing full well that the G7 countries are not interested in African development it s also known that the goal of the G7 in Africa is to control African resources and counter China trade belt route and trade intentions.

The G7 spend trillions on war, and can drop billions at the drop of what towards any conflict. This “pledge” and not offer of $600 is just another insulting rouse to maintain relevance.

I urge all Nigerians to listen to Lindsey Graham US senator on African resources being US property. Or other US senators talking about controlling Africa through military means to counter China.

We Africans need to reject the dynamic of a relationship with a group of countries that have only exploited and savagely brutalized us till present day. Look at the damage France has done to its former colonies.

As a Nigerian I have no interest in seeking handouts from G7. They will only use it to blackmail us into foolish domestic policies. It is time we wake up and reject this colonial era financial systems and perpetrators of huge crimes till this day on our continent.

Please Note that G7 corporations are responsible for the violence in the DR Congo. So maybe they should stop the killing and violence by the M23 they sponsor first before they throw coins at us.

The Senators and Members of Reps reelection term should be pegged to three terms only and vehicles to be purchased for them must be made and assembled in Nigeria, then the Money to FG will be able to serve all sectors of the economy….

Comment on Dangote to venture into steel production, targets meeting demand in West Africa by 9jaRealist https://nairametrics.com/2024/06/13/dangote-to-venture-into-steel-production-targets-meeting-demand-in-west-africa/#comment-784074 Thu, 13 Jun 2024 21:59:17 +0000 https://nairametrics.com/?p=491180#comment-784074 In reply to Adams Owolabi.

Loser and poverty mentality of the typical Nigerian…SMH

First, there is (and would be) NO monopoly in steel production in Nigeria, as Nigeria currently has over 30 steel manufacturers. However, these companies can only produce 2.2 million tons a year with scraps and billets imported mainly from China, leaving Nigeria to import over $3 billion worth of steel products yearly – and frankly NIGERIA SHOULD HAVE NO BUSINESS IMPORTING STEEL!

If Dangote Group can bridge (or completely eliminate) this gap, kudos to them. In a nation where many established and/or respectable foreign investors are joining the “japa” STAMPEDE, it’s bemusing to see some Nigerians turn up their noses at anyone ‘crazy’ enough to want to invest money (they could easily squirrel away in the US, UK or Dubai) into this increasingly TRAIN WRECK of a nation!

Sadly, in a nation where it has become the culture of so many to reward and praise failure and failures while punishing and denigrating success, it’s no longer shocking to witness the attempt at demonizing someone who has actually created TENS OF THOUSANDS OF JOBS FOR NIGERIANS IN NIGERIA (and hundreds of thousands more indirect jobs and livelihoods). Poverty Pastors!

Again, a 40-year loan at a 1% interest rate aimed at helping the poorest citizens of the country, primarily in rural areas, dramatically improve their access to markets, goods, and services from cities is considered a debt trap?

Monopoly does not augur well for the average citizen. Only you can not be mortgaging the lives of the unborn. I don’t support it this. After all the refinery have not seen the light of day, to the betterment of the citizens. I could remember the issue that came up as regards the cement factory in Kogi state that led to a closure at some points before the federal government intervened. PIs face your other buisinesses.

Already, traffic officials in every state of Nigeria have the right to direct, stop and verify the validity of these general documents for all vehicles plying their state regardless of issuing state. Hence, I am struggling to understand where Lagos state is going with this request.
